Events
The Copenhagen Climate Council's primary objective is to contribute towards making the 2009 UN Climate Conference a success by presenting political decision-makers with new ideas, solutions and recommendations on how to best tackle climate change without compromising our prosperity or our growth perspectives. To accomplish this goal, the Council has designed a comprehensive action plan of initiatives and events that will unfold over the soming 18 months.

INNOVATION IN CLIMATE AND ENERGY
Co-hosted with the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS), a research center at the University of California, this research conference will bring together some of the world's leading scientists will with industry leaders to discuss innovation in climate and energy. The aim of the event is to introduce a framework that will help uncover the interdependencies and trade-offs, choices and opportunities involved in new energy technologies to mitigate climate change effectively.

WORLD BUSINESS SUMMIT ON CLIMATE CHANGE
The World Business Summit on Climate Change will bring together business leaders with the world's top scientists, economists, civil society, media leaders, politicians and other thought leaders to show how business can help solve the climate crisis through innovative business models, new partnerships and the development of low carbon technologies. The aim of the Summit is to demonstrate that climate change is not just a risk to humanity, but also an opportunity to create innovative solutions and new ventures that may result in better quality of life for millions of people across the world. The Summit will send a strong message to the 2009 UN Climate Change Conference (COP15) on how to remove barriers and create incentives for implementation of new solutions in a post-Kyoto framework.
