Vice Chairman, Climate Change Capital
James Cameron is Vice Chairman of Climate Change Capital, a leading investment-banking group specialising in the commercial opportunities created by a low carbon economy.
For the past 20 years, James has been pursuing a career as a lawyer, negotiator and investor relentlessly focused on how to tackle the climate problem and reduce emissions – for example as Counsel to Baker & McKenzie; as founder and the head of their Climate Change Practice, and as legal adviser to the Alliance of Small Island States when they were negotiating the UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol.
James is one of the world’s pre-eminent experts in developing market based policy responses to climate change. He has held academic positions in Cambridge, London, Bruges and Sydney and he is currently affiliated with the Yale Centre for Environmental Law and Policy. As well as being the Chairman of the Carbon Disclosure Project and a treasurer of REEEP, James is also a trustee of the Climate Group and a member of the board of GE Ecomagination.
