Jens Ulltveit-Moe was born in 1942. He has a degree in economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration and a Masters degree in international affairs from Columbia University. He is currently the owner and CEO of Umoe As, which covers a wide set of activities from shipping, lifeboat production, real estate, IT-solutions for the health sector and the oil and offshore business. The Umoe group has more than 6500 employees, and had a turnover of approx. EUR 750 million in 2003.
Umoe acts as an active long-term owner and investor. The group aims to develop companies through organic growth, acquisitions and restructuring, and to contribute more than just capital.
Jens Ulltveit-Moe’s prior experience covers consulting for McKinsey & Company in New York, and serving as the managing director of tanker company Asterix Shipping, the president of the Shipowners' Association and the president of the Norwegian Confederation of Business and Industry. Furthermore, Mr. Ulltveit-Moe plays an active role in Norwegian society.
